Land Acknowledgement
Anchorlight Creative acknowledges that our organization operates on the ancestral homelands of Indigenous peoples who have been the original stewards of these territories since time immemorial. We recognize that our US-based headquarters and the homes of our distributed team members exist on lands that were cared for by numerous tribal nations, including but not limited to the Wyandot, Odawa, Peoria, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Yokuts, Kaskaskia, S'atsoyaha (Yuchi), and Lumbee peoples.
We honor the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous peoples and their traditional territories. This acknowledgement is not just a recognition of the past but a commitment to understanding the ongoing impacts of colonization and the resilience of Indigenous communities in the present.
As we conduct our business across these diverse lands, we pledge to educate ourselves about the specific tribal histories of the places where we work, amplify Indigenous voices, and support Indigenous-led initiatives. We recognize that true reconciliation requires action beyond words.
ALC is dedicated to fostering meaningful dialogue about Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination. We commit to being allies in the fight against the systemic barriers that continue to affect Indigenous peoples worldwide as they work to reclaim and exercise their inherent rights.
This acknowledgment serves as a living reminder of our responsibilities as guests on these lands and our ongoing commitment to respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.
DEI Statement
At ALC, we recognize our responsibility to create an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity in all its forms. As a US-based organization, we acknowledge that we operate on Indigenous peoples' traditional lands, and we honor their ancestors, elders, and communities—past, present, and emerging.
We understand that systemic barriers continue to impact marginalized communities, including but not limited to discrimination based on race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, religion, and national origin. We commit to actively identifying and dismantling these systems of oppression through our work, policies, and practices.
Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion means:
Cultivating spaces where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but valued
Ensuring accessibility in our physical spaces, digital platforms, and communication methods
Developing recruitment and retention strategies that prioritize representation at all levels
Providing continuous learning opportunities on bias awareness and inclusive practices
Establishing meaningful partnerships with community organizations led by marginalized groups
Regularly assessing our progress and adapting our approaches based on feedback
We recognize that creating meaningful change requires ongoing dedication and humility. At ALC, we pledge to use our collective voice, resources, and influence to advocate for equity and justice, both within our organization and in the broader communities we serve.
This statement reflects our values and commitments, and we hold ourselves accountable to putting these words into action every day.
